The Sitka Rose
"Sitka Rose" is a term used in Anchorage and throughout much of Alaska to refer to varieties of Rosa rugosa. This report traces the term to its origin with the conclusion that no particular variety of Rugosa rose holds title to the term. 
Wild Roses in Alaska
Three species of roses are native to Alaska. This article describes the populations areas within the state and briefly discusses the uses of these roses.
